European Cultural Heritage Strategy recommendates Adopt a Monument

Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers to member States on the European Cultural Heritage Strategy for the 21st century is published. Among the recommendations is Adopt a Monument (S5 – Assess citizen participation practices and procedures). What an honour to be an example for the whole Europe!

Osmonpuisto Music Stage Is Adopted

Folk Extreme ry and Kulttuuriosuuskunta Uulu adopted Music Stage, located in Osmonpuisto Park, Tampere. Adopters are professional musicians and dancers, specialised in folk. What a great start for a new year! We are excited to see, what kind of performances Folk Extreme and Uulu will arrange in Osmonpuisto next summer.

Doing Together - Adopt a Monument Seminar 9th–10th September 2016

The seminar marks the success of the ‘Adopt a Monument project’ in the EU Grand Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2016 and is also part of the programme of the European Cultural Heritage Days.

The seminar takes place on Friday, September the 9th, 2016 at 9.30–16 in Finland, Tampere, in the auditorium of Museum center Vapriikki. Following day, Saturday, 10th September, you are welcome to participate in an excursion to see some adopted monuments. The excursion lasts from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.

The seminar and the excursion are provided free of charge. Please register for the Friday seminar and the Saturday excursion no later than on Thursday, 8 September 2016, by email to pirkanmaan.maakuntamuseo(a)tampere.fi. Please include info about any food allergies.
The excursion involves walking in terrain, so please wear a good pair of walking shoes and clothing to fit the weather.

The project with the most votes will receive the Public Choice Award during the European Heritage Awards Ceremony on 24 May 2016 at the Zarzuela Theatre in Madrid in the presence of Maestro Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra, and European Commissioner Tibor Navracsics.
